Canada Day Trip

So...we were close to Canada last week and had to see the
sights.  The Canadian Rockies are amazing.
Here is just a taste...

And by the way...I hate power lines...they mess up my pictures.

This is called Crowsnest Mountain.

Another one of Crowsnest...

We went to a place called Frank's Slide.
In the early 1900's a mountain collapsed on a town and this was what was left.

The mountain in the background is Turtle Mountain.
All that rock and dirt came from the top of that mountain.

Views from the trail around Frank's Slide.

Don't remember the little town, but here was the Kingdom Hall.
Weird thing...their meeting started at 7:15.
Those crazy Canadians!

This was a little trail we did.  It led to Rainbow Falls.

Not very impressive, but it was peaceful.

Always on the lookout for critters.

Rocky Mountain Sheep
Hope mom and dad are just losing their winter coats :)

We also experienced a Moose Jam. Everyone was pulled off the road for a
moose and her babies.

It was a nice day.  Beautiful weather.  We hope to do some more exploring
north of the border.  They almost didn't let me back in.

That's all for now.

Southern hospitality

We were privileged to stay at Pruett House again.  Saturday night we did a
"Slow Country Boil"

First you must have a BIG pot

You start off with water and beer.  Gradually you add potatoes, sausage, corn and shrimp.

Then you put it out on a sheet of paper and EAT!  Yummmm...

Breakfast...we do a lot of eating here.

The flowers are all blooming and the weather is wonderful.

We are well.  It has been busy.  We had our first District Convention
in Missoula, MT this year.  We had about 5,200.  Did not have my camera.
You are going to love this program.

Hope you are all good.  We will probably be
back in MO in September.  Maybe we will see some of you then.

Josh, Julane, and the route of the Hiawatha

It was awesome to spend some time with Josh and Julane
recently.  They were in Wyoming site seeing and
came to Montana to bless us with their presence.  It was only a short
time, but it was great to see familiar faces.

While they were here, we biked the route of the Hiawatha.

First off, it has nothing to do with the Indians!  The Hiawatha was a train
The route is now a bike trail that starts in Montana and ends in Idaho.

There are several tunnels including a 2 mile tunnel at the beginning that you
must ride through.  Mind you...there are no lights in the tunnel.  You must
bring light with you, but it is really dark AND cold.

There are also several trestles or bridges.

FYI...it is also almost 15 miles each way and FYI...you cannot bike it in an hour or two.
It is an all day project.

It was rainy on and off, but here are some of the sights.

My green shoes...

A yittle chipmunk...

We saw lots of wild animal "poop" or as the locals call it "scat" but no
major animal sightings on the trip.

However, did see this moose a few weeks ago.  It was feeding in a swampy area
near the highway.

We saw a black bear last week, BUT MY CAMERA BATTERY WAS DEAD!

So sad...other animal sightings...bison on the National Bison Range.

Scary animals...

A few pictures from a recent hike...

The white tufted flower is called bear grass...they (THE BEARS) love it!

Got a new camera, so hoping pictures will be better in the future.
We are headed to Canada tomorrow for a day trip.

Have more pictures...til then.

Love to all
