A menagerie...

I have a collection of miscellaneous and sometimes
unrelated pictures to post. So here we go...

This is mid-September in Glacier Park.

As you can see...there was snow on the ground.  As a matter of fact,
the road was closed to the top of the park.
We just got out and walked around.

This is called Avalanche Lake.

The cliffs show signs of erosion from the avalanches and ice...

It is a little hard to see, but there is a snow covered mountain in
the background above the central waterfall.  It just
looks like clouds, but it is a
mountain.

Finally, I sat in the car looking at this sight for some time before
I realized what had happened here...

I guess we do live in Montana :)

We hope all of you are doing well.  We are fine and staying busy.
Our time here is going fast. My goal is to learn to ski this
year.  We will see if time and circumstances
allow it.

Take care.

Highline Trail

We have seen some beautiful sights
in Montana, but recently we did a hike and the views were

SPECTACULAR!

The trail was interesting in places...notice the cable to hold on to!

The views were amazing...

If you look really close at the top of this picture, you will see
a BEAR BUTT...

It kept getting better...

This little chalet saved our lives...
we were "tard and feathered" from the trip
and they had a VACANCY!

Our humble accommodations...

They were simple but NOT CHEAP!

This is what wore us out.
If you look closely through the center of this picture, it is a trail.
A trail that climbs a very steep grade for almost a mile.

This is what the trail looked like from our climbing perspective...

But it led to an overlook of Grinnell Glacier

and what a view...

We were on top of the world...

These are just a few pictures of this beautiful hike.
What an amazing trip through creation, but we were
wore out.

Fall is here in the mountains.  Will have more pictures later, but I leave you with this parting
photo of fall in Montana...

I am severely behind on my pictures.
Hope to catch you up soon.

Love to all.

The visit was awesome.  We saw lots of

Going to the Sun road we had done before, but the road
to East Glacier was crazy!

Miss everyone and I will leave you with this thought...
