This weekend we attended our first assembly in Oregon.
The building is nestled in the trees and you would hardly know it
is there.
This is the sign out by the road....
It is used for English, Spanish, and for several schools.
This is the inside.
Lobby...
The auditorium...
Balcony in back of auditorium...
Stage...
Pool for baptisms...
A camera projects the baptism
onto the walls beside the stage
so everyone can see.
Seating...
The Assembly Hall is on the Pacific side of the Cascades.
It is desert on the east side of the mountains, but it is like a
rain forest on the west side of the mountains. The flowers were all bloomed out
on the property.
Rhododendrons like WV...
This was like a rose tree, but they
weren't roses. It had a shiny hard leaf
like a holly tree, but had no thorny
edges. See all the petals on the ground?
These are the flowers...
A little picnic area in the corner...
Our apartment was in the back next to a pond. We
had neighbors...

Marshmallow and Aflac (mom and dad) ↓ children (names determined later)
The 'rose tree' is a Camellia tree. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteCool. Didn't know that...
DeleteHope you guys are well.
I am glad you posted these pictures of the Woodburn Assembly Hall. My son is there from North Carolina for the Elders School for the next 2 months and he sent me a picture of his classroom tonight. My hobby is touring Assembly Halls all over the USA but I have never made it to Oregon. I did make it to 6 of the Halls in California and have seen about 25 Halls so far. Each unique and such beauty!
